Updated Forum Statistics
I just thought I'd give everyone a run-down of the busiest forums and sub-forums here on City-Data as of October 29. I thought it would be interesting to track where the highest concentration of "gas-bags" are on this forum! LOL! For easier clarification I have bolded state names. Also bear in mind as a disclaimer that a couple of these rankings may already be obsolete, as people have still been posting for the half-hour or so I have been compiling this data. If there is enough interest in these rankings I will volunteer to update this thread weekly---perhaps even asking to get it stickied somewhere.

I still can't get over the overwhelming popularity of NC. What gives?

Holy cow, how long did it take you to come up with that list? That's very impressive!
I'm not surprised that NC is the most popular forum, but I am surprised by how much.
I'm also surprised at how popular the TN forum is. I just hope we don't become another NC. ugh.

I would have expected to see the states with the largest population to be at the top. I'm very surprised to see North Carolina at the top. I'm also surprised by the numbers of the subforums. More posts in the San Antonio forum than the New York City forum.

You also have to look at sticky threads. Most people join City-Data to ask questions on where to live. San Antonio doesn't have a sticky thread for that while New York City does which will also lower the number of threads.

I think TN will have moved ahead of PA on that list by the time I update this listing next week. TN has a lot going for it, but as you implied it will be the same sprawtropolis that much of NC has now become of y'all aren't careful! It only took me about 45-minutes to compile this, and as I said in a case or two the rankings are separated by only one or a few posts, so it's likely those might fluctuate for a little while until one finally pulls away from the other.

I'm surprised that my own sub-forum (Northeastern Pennsylvania) is so far ahead of so many other states and major U.S. cities. Looks like Scranton is more popular than we all thought after all! LOL!

It certainly gives me all of the evidence I needed to further plead for a fifth sub-forum for Pennsylvania. It also gives me the right to call North Carolina OVERRATED!!!
