Yeah I think that is right on. Remember articles like this one from just 4 years ago when the left wanted to secede from "Jesusland"? I suppose Jesusland isn't so bad now that so many Jesuslanders helped to elect Obama.

NYC....I would love it if NYC succeeded from NYS...and formed their own little state...after all when 1 in 7 residents are on welfare...coupled with the collapse of the economy...NYC would be standing on line in Washington...instead of NYS attempting to bleed the rest of the state dry to support their liberal policies...

The economic powerhouse that is Buffalo, NY will surely lead NYS to great things.

None. We'll probably become a North American Union before that happens.

Most likely to secede? Nobody. There will be talk here and there, but let's face it: do you think there's any particular state or region that really wants to take on the U.S. armed forces?

I really don't think many of us here are actually advocating secession at this point in time (although, yes, I admit there can come a time where there may be no other choice if we want to preserve our classic freedoms as spelled out by the Founding Fathers).

Anyway, your question is a good one. But, on the flip side, many in the US military would likely take the side of their home states/regions. It would be a divided military as well. And really, most men/women in the armed forces tend to be conservative and Red State.. I can't see them taking part in killing their own kinfolk...
