Yes, so poker IS illegal, but small games aren't busted up. But like I said, if I were to hold a large scale, publically advertized cash game at a local hotel, that's not gonna fly.

Poker in and of itself is not illegal. Gambling is. You can legally play a game not-for-money but that is lame. (unless you are my 2nd cousins from missouri teaching me how to play 5card stud when I was 8)

But ya, you have the right idea: small games wouldn't be busted up, a "large scale, publically advertised cash game at a local hotel" wouldn't be okay, but there is probably some loophole too.
