That's because with California's electoral votes, he crossed the amount needed to win the presidency. They would have waited no matter what state had to report in.

So true. This is what I have been trying to point out on the "California is the most powerful state" thread.

Well I know that, but it did make California seem more important that way.

When I first saw this thread, I was hoping no one was going to bite. It's just an extension of the California thread, but now we are to ponder whether Texas and California are now both the most important states???

Actually if you're referring to George W. Bush, he was born in Connecticut to set the record straight. I don't claim that baffoon.

San Antonio's history dates back to the mid 1500's. San Antonio is home to the the oldest cathedral and second oldest public park in the U.S. Texas has tons of history.

Well I do and if you think he was the worst president you probably don't have much knowledge of American History.
HE wasn't the greatest guy in the world, but the president has only so much power.
Watch as Obama becomes the next Bush...The Democrats are in for a hell of a ride, because all the Republicans have to do is sit back and complain.
As History comes forward, Bush will be analyzed and then we can size him up for what he was.
Joe... Please stop flaming.
I know this thread is sort of ignorant, but these immature attacks consisting of merely arrogant unsophisticated words is quiet annoying.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but pose backup for your arguments. Or make judgments on Texas based on a few.

California and Texas also stand out because they are the only 2 states in the entire nation that has more than one city with a population of over 1 million people living within the city proper/city limits.
