I live in Phoenix and even in the Phoenix forum there have been a lot of posts about Houston lately. Is there something going on there?? Is it a good place to move to right now because it's ecenomy is better that the rest of the country??
The economy seems to be doing well in TX compared to other parts of the US. They are not being significantly affected by the mortgage/foreclosure crisis and the cost of living is low compared to many other parts of the country. On paper it seems like one of the best places to move to right now.
People have been talking about Houston for a long, long time. It's been a very popular destination for years. It's got lots of jobs, low cost of living, low taxes, and plenty of room to expand. And, after the recent hurricane, it's undergoing some major reconstruction which requires a lot of workers.

Why is everybody talking about Houston so much??
Because phonies like you who do NOT live in Phoenix have been boostering Houston on the Phoenix forum. People in AZ know that Houston is a stinking cesspool of crime, choking ozone clouds, and oppressive humidity. It's hard to believe anyone would be dumb enough to move from the jewel of the sunbelt to the armpit of Texas. Apparently you were and now need others to share your misery.
Phoenix ! Is probably like one dog sniffing another dog's a**. Charles Barkley described Phoenix as like "having to live in a cesspool and swimming in it too". (Barkley still lives in Phoneyix because he can't get his feet out of the S***>
