The diversity of Atlanta's economy gives the city a lot of areas to "ride on". The job losses have been huge, but Atlanta will continue to absorb those losses. I mean, this city was burned to the ground and came back stronger than ever 5 years later. You don't actually think a sour economy will really affect us...do you?

What a stupid comparison. There are plenty of areas in Detroit that look like the area on the right, and areas in Atlanta that look like the picture on the left.

Sorry folks, but this...

...is not going anywhere.

That first picture is beautiful. a quick fix up and it would be incredible. So much potential. I think that's one difference between Detroit and Atl, Detroit has potential.

No. Mezzo is one of them that you alluded to earlier that has been converted to rentals. Aqua is pretty much sold out.

You would be VERY hard-pressed to find an area of Atlanta that looks even remotely like the first pic. There are areas of abandonment, but they are very limited - and none of them include bombed out shells of empty highrises in the background.

The second pic is of Lenox Rd in Buckhead, around the corner from Lenox Square. I can absoutely guarantee you that there is NOTHING even remotely comparable to this area ANYWHERE within the City Limits of Detroit - not even close.

All cities have potential, Billiam. Are you suggesting that there is no potential in Atlanta?
