Chicago!!! The Chicago River is the world's only river that flows backwards.
Plus, Chicago is architecturally impressive...and it's my home.

On the list, I'd say Pittsburgh. Off the list, I'd have to give lots of consideration to the Twin Cities. Here's something to ponder: ask the editor of Midwest Living Magazine what his favorite river city is, and he'll tell you Dubuque. I never would have thought of that one.

We live near Pittsburgh now and its great...but my favorite all time is Lake Oswego, Oregon...Like your own little private Willamette River leading into the Columbia...With your boat you can idle right up to your house and boat dock...Nothing like it anywhere...And Portland...the most beautiful and nicest city in the Pacific Northwest..I miss the steelhead fishing at Camas....West Virginia has been a great 2nd choice though...
