What river city do you like above all other river cities?

My choice is Pittsburgh, PA.

Portland, Oregon!! I lived there for seven years and loved walking on the riverfront with my wife (girlfriend at the time). It was romantic, the city has phenomenal asian food and it's small enough that you feel safe. We live by the Mississippi river now...just not the same.

I concur. Nothing beats that gorgeous view from atop Mt. Washington!

I don't have a favourite, but several: Providence, RI; New York, NY; Portland, OR; and Pittsburgh, PA and to a lesser but still favourable extent Norfolk, VA, Seattle, WA

Jacksonville, FL. Seven bridges, growing riverwalk and Maxwell House Coffee plant that smells so good when the beans are roasting. Boat parade at Christmas, water taxi....

For those of you who haven't been here in a while- the noxious industry smells that were our claim to fame are gone now and the bridges are all lit up at night.
