Since I'm young, I prefer urban more than suburban.

Of the 2 choices, definitely suburban. But my real choice is rural.

Suburban, I like knowing my neighbors, I like my homogenous community...I enjoy having a lot in common with people in my community. I like low crime. I like good (relative) public schools. And like being able to go to the city and simply leave when I've had my 'big city' fix. The day to day problems with living in Chicago are simply too much for me to Prefer it over the lofty north shore suburbs.

Urban for me. Maybe when I reach my 30's and have kids it would be different.

The year I turned 13, my parents bought a house in the suburbs of New Jersey. I hated it from day one, and promised my parents I was going to go back to the city when I got out of school and landed my first job...which I did, in that order. (They didn't believe I would actually do that, since they felt that they'd moved to the burbs "for our own good." I never subscribed to that theory).

I prefer urban living. I live 5 minutes from my job and 10 minutes from my school. When I go out on the weekends it takes 5 to 15 minutes to get to all the bars and restaurants that I like. I lived in the suburbs for a short time and the commute was unbearable. An hour and a half both ways was driving me crazy. Never again will I live in the suburbs.

That's exactly how I feel. I feel the only suburbs I might like are the ones in SoCal. After college I'm definitely going to get a job in the city and live there.
