I don't understand why someone would choose to be uncomfortable but to each his own.
Not everyone is uncomfortable in warm weather.

Some of us are uncomfortable when it gets below 50.

If I could live experience my area's winter year round (highs in the low to mid 50s) then I'd gladly do it. During our "winter", my face is almost stuck like this and I only get sad when I think about how hot the summer could be.

Hot and humid weather is horrible for someone like me who drips with sweat after 10 minutes of being outside.

85 and humid is not warm, its HOT.

And its so ironic that people who love to talk about loving heat are the same ones who don't hesitate to put the AC on full blast at every opportunity.

LOL

The teachers and aides huddle in the doorways when its in the high 40s or low 50s, even when they are dressed up like Eskimos in parkas, hats, scraves, and gloves. I can remember many a morning where I was outside all alone greeting the kids wearing just a light jacket, or long sleeved shirts and pants. Hats, scraves, gloves?????? It's not below freezing.

In reverse, when it was 80+ degrees I was melting and standing inside in the AC and they were all cooing about the lovely weather in the sun.

Different strokes for different folks.

It is nothing like summer in Florida, i.e, HOT AND HUMID.

Yes, I've been conditioned to be incredibly spoiled as far as weather is concerned.

I'm just saying, if heat is so great-why even turn of the AC?

Your conditioned air is a facsimile of my natural air.

I was in Orlando for my niece's high school graduation last year.

Florida is a great place and I can totally see the allure. Congrats to all FL Lovers!

But the weather, oh the weather. No, no, no.

But I could live there no prob as I already spend half the year in Sao Paulo-which can get pretty humid as well.

The key is HUMIDITY. All 85 isn't the same. I almost NEVER put on the AC in NY because the humidity wasn't high. AND there was a breeze.

I have the AC going in SW Florida when it is even in the 70s because of the HUMIDITY and the dead as doornail stagnant air.

Please don't send me charts. When I got up this morning at 6 AM WINK news (complain to THEM) said the air temp was 79 degrees, the humidity was 95%, and the winds were 2 mpr. Ah, those lovely Gulf breezes. No, I haven't looked since about 2 PM when it was 93. I don't WANT to know.
