New York, without a doubt, is number one in the nation when it comes to breathtaking skylines. It's magnificent, colorful, composed of a wide variety of building sizes and styles, and covers a huge area. From miles away you can't fit the whole thing into a photograph!
Number 2 is Chicago, easily, for being almost what New York is.
Number 3 is more difficult to determine and I change my mind frequently on this. Great contenders include San Fran, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Miami, LA, Philadelphia, Houston, and Seattle. They're all great for different reasons.
I'm glad nobody voted for Phoenix! lol
At sunset driving into downtown Phoenix is breathtaking with the orange desert sky. just look at it.
The sky is nice, but everyplace on earth has killer sunsets from time to time.
The skyline itself is boring, does nothing for the eyes or soul. Take away that awesome sunset and replace it with a rainy day, and youve got a recipe for "get me outta here!!!!!!" LOL
I think every city has a good skyline in it's own way. It keeps that city's individuality and makes each city unique. I like almost all city's skylines because every one is different and unique from each other. my most favorite is not one, it's many here's some
Anchorage- Plain beautiful
Seattle- Just as beautiful as Anchorage
Houston- The modern Architecture
Chicago and NYC- The density and the old and new blend
Albuquerque- Beautiful at night with all of the uniquely lit buildings
Honolulu and Miami- Tropical metropolises
LA- Decent downtown and many other skylines
Baltimore- decent and beautiful
Jacksonville- Beautiful on the water
Dallas- Interesting and new
Quebec City- Interesting Blend of old and new
Toronto- Big and dense
Savanna and Charleston(SC)- Historical Architecture makes up for the lack of Skyscrapers

Seattle's skyline is kind of odd, but one of the ones I enjoy the most. Their downtown seems great also.

[*]Houston- The modern Architecture
Ironically enough, the modern architecture is what many people dislike about Houston's downtown. I can't count the number of times I've heard how "fake" it seems, or how it looks like a Lego city, lol. What's most impressive is the older and Art Deco buildings that hide behind the skyscrapers.
Why isn't Cleveland on the list? I'd say that skyline's pretty impressive, at least as impressive as St. Louis.
