Three skylines. Not four.

Ther're a couple of sites where atlanta skyscraper enthusiast disscuss atlantas skyline (that's where I got the pics). Many of them talk of the day the three skylines will merge almost as though it's the second coming .

Actually, at the rate that midtown and buckhead are growing it might not be terribly far off in the future. Atlanta's skyline will definately be impressive then.

You know what's funny is that I was just thinking that, especially after seeing the pic you posted with the view of midtown and Buckhead further in the background. I can easily see high rises being constructed between the two places, and if that happens Atlanta will look more like Tokyo (a view of skycrapers and buildings all the way to the horizon is what the view is like from Tokyo Tower, which will be like the view from Peachtree Plaza).

Here's a great picture of north midtown (the first line of buildings) backed by buckhead (the second line) and Sandy springs in the rear. You can see how buckhead is snaking it's way up peachtree towards midtown.

South Midtown and Downtown buildings can't be seen from this view.

Atlanta might be a fine city with fine people - I only drove through once, but the skyline, not so much.

What highway did you drive through on? If I-85 or 75 I don't see how you could be completely unimpressed. Unless you are comparing it to New York or Chicago.

I know Cleveland wasn't on the list but it's up there with ATL for me. Plus I've seen it alot more times than ATL's. Spent alot of time just staring at the one in Cleveland.

I'm just judging the skyline from the posted pictures. Maybe if I viewed in person I would have a different opinion. From the pictures it just looks, I don't know, boring. I will say the picture with all the trees was pretty cool. My family and I take a fall trip every year, maybe Atlanta will be the destination.

I'm a sucker for density. So Atlanta probably won't be as high on my list as it would on others. But they do have great individual towers.
