I totally agree, but I would say most beautiful is a toss-up between Seattle and San Francisco.

Theres that picture again - the one taken with the Hubbel zoom lens. Looks like Mt Ranier is 2 miles from Seattles skyline yet in reality its 110 miles away.

Just my 2 cents but any city that relies on a rock formation and an antenna to make its skyline cant really be taken seriously.

I disagree, I think NY comes in first in size and beauty : Lower manhattan for beaty, and Midtown for size

Lower Manhattan

Midtown

(not even close to all of midtown)

ha is that water supposed to be Blue? and like I said I dont think Manhattan will win awards for beautiful as I have seen other city skylines and they are much more impressive , but just by the sheer size and amount of buildings no city in the world can compare to Manhattan, it really has to be viewed to believe, no picture can do it justice, it is really amazing and impressive in that regard

At least.. 60,000+ Americans have spoken

The top 10 Skyline/views

1 Chicago
2 New York
3 San Francisco
4 Seattle
5 Honolulu
6 Denver
7 Las Vegas
8 Portland, Oregon
9 San Diego
10 Boston

America's Favorite Cities 2007 | Cityscape | Skyline/views | Travel + Leisure

I think New York has the most impressive skyline but its not the most beautiful.

After visiting some other cities in the US and the World, though... ATL still holds up, but not in the top spot.

downtown1, do you ACTUALLY believe that Portland has a better skyline than Philly? Are you seriously that nave?? Seriously, I don't care how many people were polled, the results are ridiculous. Or are you just going to post another red herring and call me genius at the end? I know it seems difficult for you to actually address the issue...

Also, according to that same survey, Portland has the BEST cityscape overall. Portland also wins in characteristics overall. Hell, the only thing Chicago wins overall is Food/Drink, which may explain why they're so fat over there.

Ho boy. I am starting to think that it isn't worth bothering, but I'll respond.

First, this isn't about belief. It's a poll. People voted. Lots of em.

Secondly, how're you gonna trash the poll and then point out that Portland topped another category.

Third, as you can see here ( America's Favorite Cities 2007 | Chicago | Travel + Leisure ), Chicago topped 6 of the subcategories. Sure, just one top big category (out of 8), but it's a pretty good one to top. Food's good.
