Boston walkable, educated, history, great restaurants and culture,
Denver, clean - fun - easy -healthy - micro-brew culture meets the Rockies -
D.C. so much to see - great History and easy to get around.
San Francisco - By far the most beautiful city in the United States -
OK I grew up just outside of the city - so it doesn't count -
NYC - This place is like no other on the planet - Food - Culture - Energy - The diversity - and of couse you could spend years months and millions and never see everything.
Worse than expected:Oklahoma City (YAWN) Yee Haw - Never again.
Houston - Dirty - Sprawling - Lousy Roads - No Zoning & weird infrastructure, disconnected outside the loop, and ten years similar sized cities
Miami - beautiful beaches, but much of the area feels like a gritty third world war zone and dangerous -
Phoenix - overcrowded, dirty, blazing hot, little to no culture, never again - Like a smaller version L.A. without the nice weather, great beaches and cool people -
Miami: I liked the city, but it was completely different from what I expected. I was expecting a vibrant, fast-paced, cosmopolitan metropolitan area. What I got was lots of poverty, vibrant, but not in the sense that I had thought, and rude people. It wasn't really that fast-paced either; it felt smaller than Houston despite its density and vibrant nightlife scene.
Washington DC: Beautiful city and beautiful women, but horrible attitudes, large egos, crime, and gangs.
More than I expected:
New Orleans: I thought it was going to be some disastrous, dying, crime-ridden city but what I got was amazing food, great people, and lots of fun. Kind of what my expectations for Miami were.
Charlotte Area: I was a little hesitant to go there because I didn't really hear much about the area. What I got was amazing atmosphere, great people, and lots of trees.
Better than expected: New Orleans, St. Louis, Kansas City, Nashville, Houston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City. Worse than expected: San Diego, Miami, Dallas, Austin, Washington DC, Raleigh, Cincinnati.
