Check coastal North Carolina, Virginia, or like Futcha suggested SC. I think you'll like NC though because you can do your outdoors thing, go to the beach, and live outside some of the cities there. Charleston, SC could be a city to your liking because it's historic and they have their own unique type of foods (lots of seafood).

And once again, if you eliminate coastal, Omaha would work too, and you could get a larger house for that amount of money.
