I would pick Boston. I think the town is so rich in history and a lot started there when this country was only 13 colonies.

Philadelphia is a close second, and that was the capitol at some point
Chicago, Atlanta, or Denver.

Amidon, North Dakota. Population, 26. The county seat of Slope County.

My reasoning? Put the capital where the vast parasitic apparatus of government won't want to live. Then, only dedicated public servants will consent to live there.

Someplace in the middle of the country. Maybe then the national media would get out of their offices and see how non-urban people live and think instead of just looking at their demographic data.
