This is very concise, but pretty much spot-on.

How would the summer temps compare between the 2?

Im under the impression that they are very similar, but Houston doesnt get the breezes we do.

Tampa is MUCH more bearable in the Summer. Houston is one of the most oppresive cities I've been in. The humidity is unbearable!

Was Ybor City closed when you were in Tampa? It is Tampa's historic center, founded in the 1880s by cigar manufacturers and populated by thousands of immigrants from Spain, Italy, and Cuba. Part of the original neighborhood was redeveloped into a nightclub and entertainment district.

These are not photos of a city that is void of culture and vibrancy.

Tampa proper is rather dull, but the bay area as a whole is rather nice. The beaches are top notch and the people are friendly. Of the different metroplexes in Florida, this is about the only one I'd like to live in.

I would choose neither as both have alot of crime and a rundown look. Maybe if you could live in Tarpon Springs Fl, then you might go with the Tampa area.

Houston is lush and green. The Tampa area (especially Clearwater) has some of the most beautiful beaches in the US.

The job market in Houston will be MUCH better.
