Currently living in Ireland, I have dual citizenship (Irish and U.S.A.) and I feel that now might be a good time to purchase a retirement home in U.S.A.
My preference would be for a one-storey on at least 1/2 an acre, in a quiet area with plenty of room for animals. If possible on a passenger bus or train route.
But most important of all is a mild, moderate climate with low humidity and no extremes.
I would be grateful if you would kindly advise me of some places which you feel might be suitable. Low humidity, no extremes of heat or cold, no problem with rain - lots of it here!
Check out Albuquerque New Mexico. It sounds like the right place for you. You'll get some snow there, but the weather overall is awesome. Low humidity, no extreme temperatures, and it's a gorgeous part of the country.
Coastal Southern Ca has the mildest, most benign climate in the US imo. Stays pretty much in the 60's and 70's year round, rarely goes above 85F during the day or below 45F at night, basically its almost always a comfortable temperature and there is little to no need to cool or heat your home. Doesn't rain much or get that humid either, from May through October there is very little to virtually no rain at all.

Doesn't Albuquerce (sp?) have cold temps and lots of snow several times a year? Seems like south east New Mexico and the southern half of Texas has a more moderate climate with low humidity
