States without state or city taxes are going to have the least deductions. But keep in mind that most of these states often have much lower wages.

Seven states have no state income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. Two others, New Hampshire and Tennessee, tax only dividend and interest income.

I take home 35,999 a year (roughly) on a salary of 49k. But that's even with cheap health insurance. I live in St. Louis MO
