Good station. I used to listen to WFAN before I went to bed as a kid. We actually get the station pretty clear up here in Syracuse too.

One thing I do like is when they play some type of lunch-hour mix, other than that I'm listening to sports-talk or the I-Pod.
I like the mixes too. We have one for our old school and R&B station(Power 106.9) here in Syracuse. We also have one on our Hit/R&B/Hip-Hop station(Hot 107.9) during rush hour.

Yeah, my sister lives in Chili and that's the station I listen to when I'm in the ROC. I like how it is a privately, Black owned station. So, it is in tune with the community too. Good station and they also have recently released CD's on their site too. I've listened to the new Anthony Hamilton, Avant, Musiq Soulchild, Dwele and others on the site. They play the whole CD too. Check it out here:103.9 WDKX RADIO ROCHESTER NY

Why did you lecture to me about the two genres acting like I do not know this? When he said urban radio, I assumed he was talking about the most popular urban stations that play both genres. Hot 97 in NYC, 979 the Box in Houston, power 92 in Chicago etc. play hip hop AND r&b. And who said anything about it getting ghetto?

even the beat started out pretty good in 2000 in Dallas. In Houston, the box was KNOWN for playing local artists a lot and now both stations (both under radio-one might I add) are garbage.

Yeah the beat was good, but now alot of them just play all this crappy music. I swear one station be playing something like Single Ladies Beyonce, and I turn to the next station and they are playing the same thing. This happens far too often. 93.3 in Austin is ok sometimes.

Power 92.3 in Little Rock, AR. I also like 97.9 The Beat in Dallas, and the Box in Houston.

The worst I've heard is KKWD Wild 97.9/104.9 in Oklahoma City, OK.
