For me, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Missouri are my favorites because of their diverse and beautiful landscapes not to mention their numerous amounts of lakes. Southwest Wisconsin has some mountainous terrain and Missouri has the Ozarks and both Missouri and Illinois have large towering river bluffs along the Mississippi in certain places. The Great Plains states, while beautiful and open, are just too flat and uninteresting in most areas for me to take much notice except for Western South Dakota. Ohio has the Allegheny Plateau and the Appalachians in the East Central and Southeastern portion. Various parts of Southern Illinois below St. Louis also have the Ozarks, and Northwestern Illinois has various large and mountainous areas in areas that escaped glaciation. So here are my rankings:

1. Minnesota
2. Wisconsin
3. Missouri
4. Michigan
5. Ohio
6. Illinois
7. North Dakota
8. South Dakota
9. Iowa
10. Indiana
11. Nebraska
12. Kansas

How would you rank them and why?
1. Michigan, because of Great Lakes, Ann Arbor, Mackinac Island
2. Illinois- because of Chicago
3. Wisconsin- because of Madison, WI
4. Minnesota- because Minneapolis is a pretty cool town, scenic areas
5. Indiana- because of Bloomington, Indianapolis, Lake Michigan
6. Ohio- because of Cleveland (even though I don't really like Cleveland, it's a lot better than the real midwest)
7. Missouri- because of St. Louis and the Ozark Mountains
8. Iowa- because of De Moines, but full of boring corn fields
9. North Dakota- Scenery, but otherwise boring
10. South Dakota- Scenery, but otherwise boring
11. Nebraska- Really nothing special
12. Kansas- Nothing special at all

1. Minnesota is the best
2. Wisconsin is cool because it has Madison and Milwaukee and is similar to Minnesota but not quite as good
3. Iowa may not be hip but it is full of decent and friendly people.
4. Illinois has Chicago
5. Michigan is beautiful, it it's economy were better I would rank it higher
6. Missouri has a good city and a pretty good city, the rest is meh
7. I've never been to Nebraska but I suspect I would like it
8. Ohio looks so small on a map but takes forever to drive through
9. South Dakota has the Black Hills and the Badlands which are really cool but the rest not so much
10. I've spent way too much of my life in rural Indiana to rank it any higher than 10th
11. North Dakota is way too cold
12. Kansas is allegedly run by the Taliban
