What if other U.S cities had the density of NYC?

I agree with you, i like that everything you need is right in the vicinity. I hate having to drive ALL THE TIME to pick up kids from school or getting little things like milk and butter, its like that in SW florida when i visited, it was terrible. i mean i like spacious areas too.. but thats why im glad i live in Jersey.. i have both dense and sprawled towns across the state.

I think density is the single underlying foundation that fosters all of the traits that make a city vibrant and cosmopolitan. The two are are not mutually exclusive.. to have one, you must have the other.

I would have to move out of Houston if it had the density of NYC. Some of the best parts of town have very little density.

There is probablly a more algebraic method of doing this but oh well algebra has never been my best subject. Enjoy

Heck, since you already knew that NYC's density was 27,147, all you had to do was take that number and multiply it by the land area of each of the other cities you listed.

keep in mind with Jacksonville FL, that the city limits and Duval County limits are one and the same. Louisville KY just recently did the same thing and I know Augusta GA is like this as well.
