In Seattle, Starbucks is beyond saturated, and Subway is quickly trying to catch up to Starbucks' ubiquity. Luckily, there are 0 Walmarts in the city and only a couple in the metro area.

I believe Walgreens is HQ'd in the Chicago area. IMO, they are the least offensive major chain on that list. You don't need to sign up for one of those store cards in order to obtain the best price on a sale product.

Regardless of where the HQ is- Walgreens has about 6700 stores, Im sure there's about 1000 in Chicagoland. IMO that's just way too many

When I first moved to Albuquerque I thought the same thing, "there must be a Walgreens on every corner".

Tons of chains are closing stores and some chains are even closing outright. Don't be surprised if a few Walgreens in the Chicago area ultimately get closed as the economy continues to worsen.

I am in Downtown Boston as I type this....

within about a one or two mile radius there are roughly:

41 Starbucks

35 Dunkin Donuts

25 CVS Stores

I live in a neighborhood where there 2 CVS stores literally right across the street from each other....
