The Boston area, like previous posters said, could definitely do without a Dunkin Donuts or a CVS on every corner. These chains are all over the place, both in the suburbs and in the heart of the city.
Partly because of their business practices. Some dislike the people that shop there. Some wal marts tend to attract some trashy people. Others dislike the inferior products that they sell. Others don't like the fact that they take away from the individuality of a community, causing mom and pop shops to close.
I'll take all of the above and then some. Customer service sux. Prices aren't that much better than Target if at all. Always too crowded. I always get a sort of nauseous feeling when I have to go there.
Albany, NY area has a huge concentration of Dunkin Donuts. Can't even count how many I know exactly where they are.
But this is good for me because I love DD coffee.
