16 Walmarts within a 10 mile radius of my house. I think that's a lil much. People just can't get enough of their Walmart here though. I prefer Target personally.
Holy crap that's a lot of Walmart......I have never actually stepped foot in a Walmart, because there are hardly any Walmarts in the Seattle area. What makes people despise them so much? Is it just their business practices, or are the stores just dumps?

Partly because of their business practices. Some dislike the people that shop there. Some wal marts tend to attract some trashy people. Others dislike the inferior products that they sell. Others don't like the fact that they take away from the individuality of a community, causing mom and pop shops to close.
I'm amazed at how many Walgreens stores are in the Chicago area. A few years ago, they were going up like a plague or something. Nothing against them, but I can see them closing a bunch of them if the economy gets much worse. Starbucks is another one that has completely saturated the market here and is probably overdue for a shakeout.
Well, BK's, Mickey D's, Wegmans Supermarkets(check out the website), Rite Aid's, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Starbucks(before they shut many of them down nationwide), Pizza Hut's and Aldi's.
Walgreens is the worst offender around here, along with Starbucks. I checked all of them because, well, there is an overabundance of all the stores you listed.
Walgreens was also started in Chicago, Steve-o, so if you knew that already that shouldn't come as too much of a shock to you
Personally, I think there are too many Wal Marts in St. Louis. I have a personal disgust for Wal Mart ever since my best friend and I got screwed over when our DVD player malfunctioned. They forgot to give us a receipt when we bought it from them, which the particular one near my area doesn't give, now we have to get a new DVD player. So yeah, a place that involves getting rick-rolled over something expensive is a place I want to see less of. Not to mention, the employees are unfriendly and generally either white trash or are from the ghetto. Yes, I know there are some exceptions...the vast majority fit the stereotype though.
Any kind of chain drugstore - CVS, Duane Reade and Walgreen's, in that order. I honestly don't understand how they all can stay in business. There's also an obscene number of of Starbucks in Manhattan.
Wish I could send ya some! I like them, and much prefer them to WalMart, but seems like a new one is popping up every week around here in the Twin Cities.
