I wouldn't want to live walking distance from where I work. I teach in the south Bronx, so this isn't a real nice neighborhood to live in. I also wouldn't want to live so close that I would see students on a regular basis lol.

Doing a 6th month job rotation so 45 miles from Boston to Providence each way...ugh atleast its a reverse commute and no traffic. 35-40 min ride each way.

but seriously, I can't wait until december when I'm back working in downtown Boston and stop putting milage on my car.

I commute 6 miles one way from Collingswood NJ to Center City, Philadelphia PA. I commute via the PATCO train.

I live and work in Jackson, MS. I drive 3.7 miles one way, all city streets (no highways/interstate) - takes about 10 minutes. I would take the bus if we had a more reliable, efficient transit system.
