I vote Detroit? Why you ask? To show those yuppy, cappucino drinking, Abercrombie wearin, fruitcakes what the REAL WORLD is like out there... tough as nails and ready to eat em up along with the other 2.6 million people who lost their jobs last year. They can watch as MI's economy crumbles as the Big 3 struggle to stay afloat. They can see the homeless everywhere. They can taste the despair in the air. They can see the ruin that Detroit has become. That, my friends, is the REAL WORLD, not some pampered, drunk idiots making fools out of themselves on MTV. They wouldnt last a month in Detroit.
They should come back to the Midwest, like Chicago or Minneapolis. I'm getting tired of them giving Southern Cali and NYC all the MTV/media spotlight. I personally want them to come back to Chicago. They can also do a unexpected city like Detroit, now thats the Real World. MTV/media never give the Midwest a chance, they only did the midwest once.
"Real World: Pyongyang" has a nice ring to it though. Make the cast members complete the "Hotel of Doom" and give Kim Jung-il regular pedicures and massages.
I would love to see St. Louis because I live here and it could use some publicity of sorts, but I think very urban areas are the best; maybe SF, NYC, Chicago. They've probably already been in all 3 of those. I thought this show was waaaay off the air though.
I like steve-o's idea alot! Baltimore could work too but then they would spend all their time in the harbor and the neighborhoods around it so it wouldn't be as interesting as a place where there aren't that many great neighborhoods like Detroit. Detroit would be perfect, definently the real world. After they got bored with Greektown or around the GM center i wonder what would happen. I don't usually watch the real world but i think i would if it took place in Detroit
