My SIX YEAR OLD student warns me about gangs. Yes, I said 6 years old. He tells me what not to say if I'm near someone who is in a gang, and what not to wear. He was beaten up one time for wearing a red shirt (his brother is only 11--pretty sure he's in a gang and is influencing my student). Gangs are sort of organized crimes. Sometimes the gangs have others involved in initiation do something crime-related.

Absolutely.

Organized crime comes in a lot of different forms. Now, we have Organized crime coming from Europe (Russia), Asia, Mexico and many other places.

Agreed. I don't think there are dons and families with rigid hierarchy. The traditional Mafia structure of tight knitted families is mostly a thing of the past. .
Today's crime organization is looser and more dynamic (changes and adapts all the time - which probably makes fighting them more difficult). They also aren't probably controlled by a single family "head".
The times - they are a changin...
