Do any of you talking about how great Iceland would be to live in realize its on the verge of economic collapse and bankruptcy?? I'm surprised no one has even mentioned this yet. BUT on the bright side anyone that just wants to visit can get a really good deal due to its currency losing the majority of its value.

Iceland's economic crash hit fast and hard - USATODAY.com

Iceland is beautiful, but the economy there is awful.

Wow. Throw out the Michigan cities and the murder capital of Gary, Indiana, and you have HOUSTON as the city that most people would choose Iceland over. Some angry Houstonites should be sounding in on this soon...

It's Houstonians.

And I'm pretty sure it's all in spite because of the nutty posts of a few people from Houston on here (or people who at least claim to be).

Too bad others have to resort to voting negative on it to every poll just because of that...

(Go here to see pics of how absolutely awful it is)

North Dakota and Iceland would be my first two preferences, and all the other places on the list would be equally intolerable.

That really would be rare. Trees are so rare in Iceland, that very few cats there have ever even seen one. Is is a completely tree-less island, but a few exotics have been planted in sheltered places.

The only tree native to Iceland is the northern birch Betula pubescens, which formerly formed forest over much of southern Iceland. Deforestation caused a loss of critical topsoil due to erosion, greatly reducing the ability of birches to grow back. Today, only a few small birch stands exist in isolated reserves.--Wikipedia

Telling someone you will "banish them" to Iceland over living in a place like Gary, Compton, Detroit, etc... is like telling your kids you are "punishing them" by taking them to Disneyland instead of a library.

Point is: Iceland isn't that bad of a place to be banished.
