Currently, I have a California special education credential and even with a special education teaching credential, having a hard time finding a full time job. Does anyone know which websites I can visit to see what the teaching opportunities are in other states? If I can find a job outside of CA, I might be able to covince my husband to move out of California since his business is very slow right now. Thanks for any info.

The pay here in NYC is pretty high, but it's getting increasingly harder to get a job. Probably still easier than most areas. You have to start in neighborhoods like the south Bronx (like I did) that have a high-turnover, but some schools in bad areas can be good. Your certification is a shortage area here in the city, so you could probably get a job.

A few years ago it was said that anyone with a pulse could get a job teaching in NYC. It's way different now, but like I said, it's very possible you could land one since you have a special ed certification.

I know that northern VA and NC are hiring a lot. Especially NC with the increasing population and building schools.

Maryland teaching jobs are generally listed by the individual counties. I'll ask my daughter (a Maryland English teacher) tomorrow what info/sites might be useful to you if you're interested.

I don't know if you're up for moving but I've seen at least four ads for special education teachers.
If you're interested, I can DM you the info.

If there is a certain district you're interested in, just type it in and look for their Job Openings/Careers/etc section.
