Throw Minneapolis in there if you mean what you say....for a second I thought you were aiming that direction!

I hate it here in orange county, ca, but the only way I can leave is if I get a divorce, which I don't want to do. I love my husband, and he is a good provider and father. The kids want to move too, but isnt it better to have your parents together than live where you want? So what to do? Suck it up, I guess. How do you live somewhere you're miserable? Would antidepressants help? The grass is definitely greener in MN, so how to deal with it here without going crazy?
Strange. If your husband values your opinion this should AT LEAST be a discussion. Hell, I was in Minneapolis and my wife convinced me to move to Cleveland to be near family. Sometimes family trumps all, but if that doesn't work, it's time to try the other spouse's idea: your turn!

You'll probably tell me that there are many people from the Northeast moving here, but I don't really care if there are a lot of transplants here. That doesn't matter to me, because I'm still here, and I don't want to be, it's great for them (if they are happy, because I happen to know a few that would like to go back to Western NY as soon as they can *gasp*). For me, NC is not the "Paradise" that everyone else seems to think it is, but I guess that's just me.
I don't like when people say (or imply) that I should like North Carolina, and I'm just in the wrong part, implying that I would be happier in another part of the same state, instead of just out of it like I desperately want to be.
A-FREAKING-MENNNNNNNN! Holy crap. I honestly didn't think it would take me until page 5 to read these sentiments. Can't wait to get out of here. Sorry I ignored the next 15 pages, but yes this is exactly how I feel.

The internet. Hopefully, though, with the right keystrokes, I'll be at the refrigerator where the whiskey is.

Wow. So many gripes. Add me in here! LOL

I'm way tired of the constant heat and humidity of Puerto Rico and all the stupid traffic. Can't wait to move someplace up north with nice 4 seasons and the option of going everywhere on foot.

Kids, be aware. Finish school. Because I didn't finish college I'm stuck here.

Ohio...simply blah. The friendliness of the population only goes so far...can't wait to move back to the West Coast (even the East would work at this point).

Kinda stuck in Oklahoma. It's "home" to me, spent all my 25 years here. That's about the only thing about it though. The schools (OU & OSU) keep most of us entertained. And OKC has finally started to progress some. But the weather sucks 50% of the year. It's darn sure a 4 season area. 60+ days of 100+ temps this year. Last winter a couple of blizzards. Spring & Fall are perfect, like right now. But my main reasons for wanting out is because I like to move on/"new things." Explains why I'm a single guy. Bought more cars than I have coats. Lived in 5 different areas of the state in the last 7 years. So I like change, and that might be why. My friends are all married & have kids now & started to develop a couple of lousy relationships in my family. I'm looking at a few places, Atlanta, Pitt, Denver, Charlotte, Portland, & Seattle for the most part. But without having finished college it's hard to have the money to just leave.

Try living in the Atlanta suburbs. Pure hell. I would only wish this on my worst enemy. People lack the ability to think for themselves. Some of the most ignorant closed conservatives come from Georgia. People hunt for fun, attend church 3 times weekly, shop at Costco on the weekends, and don't know anything else to do with themselves besides getting married and having kids (which they raise to grow up exactly the same). Many of the people from here have never even traveled out of the state, nor do they have any desire to do so. I am currently saving up and planning my escape. I am trying to last another year, although I nay not make it through the summer.

Living in Peoria, Illinois currently.

Generally I don't mind the climate but the last three or so years have been unbearable. Couple that with the taxes, inept and corrupt government and general crime and pollution where I live and it makes for an unpleasant situation.

I'd like to move further West someday.
