my town went about 65% McCain, so I can't imagine people as a whole are shouting from the rooftop, any disappointment is usually kept to yourself.

Here in my section of NYC people are generally happy. But I teach in the south Bronx (like 99.9% hispanic/black) where they're ECSTATIC about it. Some of the happiest people you'll see about this. There were parties all over the streets the day he was elected. You see tables and stores with Obama memorabilia all over.

I think its fair to say that people around here (Chicagoland) are pretty happy about President Obama.

People here seem to be 50/50, I think he won our district with like a 51-49 margin, the first split vote in any state in a VERY long time.

Where I live in Augusta GA now, I would say most are pretty happy. Where I lived a few years ago (Peachtree City GA-around 95% Repulblican), I would say other than my family, most people there are pretty upset.

Im sure they are excited here except for the whole side of Eastern New Mexico which McCain won, but since most people in this country see him as The Beatles or Elvis or God Im sure there are people out there sacraficing their lives for him right now.

this guy has some crazy fans, even the rappers and other celebs are all over his nuts like they have a key to the nation now.

Yeah I ntoiced that too. That has to be one of the all time great lines by the way! I live near downtown in Houston and people didn't seem to say much either way. I saw people generally doing their normal life routines like walking their dogs along the Buffalo Bayou, running at memorial park, going out to the bar, shopping etc. We didn't throw a block party like some cities (SF and NYC)
