Totally agree. Its a shame that people feel the need to go to some foreign beach instead of visiting some of the more interesting and beautiful places in their own country.

Wow...great pictures, guys. Mackinac Island looks beautiful!

I'm also in awe of all the beautiful places in NY. I lived in lower NY for the first 31 years of my life, and I never had the pleasure of visiting these wonderful towns. I'll have to try to hit some if we get back for vacation in the future!

Ellicott City, Maryland is a great little town outside of Baltimore. I'm not into burbs but if I had to live in one, this would be it. A must visit when in the area!

St. Michaels, Maryland on the eastern shore is also a very nice little day-trip town.

Yeah and most of these communites I posted pictures for are within an hour or so from Syracuse. Beautiful area and sometimes you don't appreciate it until you are older. Come on back and enjoy the communities and there are others to check out.

Saranac Lake looks beautiful. It's funny that in high school, every article of clothing i owned was from Abercrombie and Fitch (hey, I was "learning") and many of their clothes are named for Saranac Lake... I bet if you went to their website, many would still have that name/logo.

Anyway, it's really pretty. That's a nice looking Main Street.
