In your state....

For Massachusetts:

Rockport

I absolutely LOVE this oceanside town...

One hour train ride from Boston....

Terrific scenery, old fishing town architecture, great resturaunts, oceanside B&B's.

Post a max of 3 pics please....

If the result of publicizing these wonderful places is more attention, they won't remain "hidden" for long and they may cease to be a gem!

I really don't want "everyone" to visit my favorite vacation spots.

I second Ruidoso, New Mexico.

Door County, WI is nice. It's somewhat touristy, still very, very pretty.

So I guess I'll be the third Massachusetts post. I LOVE Rockport... it's an excellent choice. Truly a hidden gem in my book.

Oak Bluff's is awesome, but being on Martha's Vinyard makes it a BIT less of a hidden gem in my book, but no less nice.

My vote goes to Westport, MA

It's a little port town on the South Coast of Massachusetts with miles of gorgeous beaches, some nice restaurants, a quaint New England Village center, a great fishing fleet AND some unspoiled beautiful countryside with rolling hills and old farmland lined with stonewalls that rolls down to a meandering river. I can't get over how relatively unknown Westport is.

You can't find coastal communities this unspoiled in states not named Maine or Alaska.... and try swimming there.
