I haven't been to the Pacific northwest yet, so Portland and Seattle. Other than that I'd like to go to Minneapolis and Chicago.

I'll be blunt and say that if you were to come visit Scranton from a place like Iowa, Florida, Arizona, or some other far-flung location, you'd be disappointed, as there isn't really enough here (yet) to make the area a "vacation destination." However, we are an excellent day-trip or weekend trip city, which is why I advocate that anyone who lives in Philly, NYC, or NJ visit our city if they ever have the opportunity to do so. Some attractions within a half-hour of the city that I'd recommend for day-trippers would be the following:

Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour
Electric City Trolley Museum
Steamtown National Historic Site
Historic Iron Furnaces
Downtown Walking Tour (Guided Ones Available in Warmer Months)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (Baseball)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Penguins (Hockey)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Pioneers (Arena2 Football League)
Sno Mountain Resort
Mohegan Sun Casino
Nay Aug Park
Historic Home Viewing (Green Ridge, Hill Section, West Pittston)
Ricketts Glen State Park
Scranton Cultural Center
Everhart Museum
Houdini Museum
F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts
Kirby Park

San Francisco. Additionally, I've never been to California and would love to see it.

I'd also like to visit Savannah, Georgia, I've heard it is a very quaint and beautiful southern city.

Now, the reality of my travels this year involve New England and Seattle, both places I've been before, so I won't be seeing either of these two cities anytime soon. I am also throwing around popping in to nyc for a weekend too, flights are usually pretty cheap from Chicago and I don't have to pay for a place to stay, so it usually makes for a reasonable weekend away.

I see no mention of Red Barons football, is that team/league a thing of the past?

If you go to SF sidetrips to Lake Tahoe and/or Yosemite are worth considering.

As far as Savannah have you read the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"? That book alone makes me want to viisit Savannah.

I'd like to visit Montana, including Glacier National Park and Yellowstone.

I'd also love to go to Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, C'oeur d'Alene, Boise, Anchorage... Wow, the list is never-ending, isn't it?!

I'd love to explore Chicago for a few days; I've heard only good things about downtown and the food there.
