Rochester has a "garbage plate". Its a layer of mac salad and home fries topped with either 2 hot dogs or 2 hamburgers. Then you put a meaty hot sauce, onions, ketchup and mustard on top. Mix it all together and eat.

Ny has a lot more than just pizza. Don't forget we're known for our bagels, steaks, cheesecake, Nathans hot dogs.

My current home is Kansas City and obviously it is best known for great BBQ and steaks.
That Garbage plate looks great. I will see if I can dig up a recipe for that on the internet. Looks like something that goes well with a stout hearted ale.

i've never thought of NY as being "known" for steak. Unless you mean Peter Luger's, but that's just one place.

This is the recipe I used when I attempted it at home. The special sauce has more ingredients than you think.
