Exactly. When you have Georgia Tech and four other HBCU's, why not mention Atlanta as a college town than if you do the same for Austin? Both "cities" are about the same size. None of those colleges I just named are commuter schools. And about GSU, the old olympic village is used for dorms. I'd say they have improved much since than.
Actually Georgia Tech bought the Olympic Village last year when GSU's huge 6,000 bed dorm opened on the Downtown campus...but GSU had been using the Village for the past 10 years.
Actually DeaconJ, West GA was most certainly a commuter school. I went to school there for 4 years and I was one of the few who lived on campus. I would say a good 90% of the people I knew or went to class with drove to class from somewhere else. Just on a side note, my brother goes to GSU and he commutes from the southern suburbs. Good to hear they have some housing going up though.

3. Georgia State University Residence Halls...there are two others besides these that are currently under construction - a freshman dorm and Greek housing - that broke ground in February 2008.

Oh come on. Waco is more based around Baylor than Austin is around UT. Austin is a much bigger city than Waco and has a much larger and much more diverse economy than Waco. Austin is very much a city. Waco is not on the level of that city in any way.

You are very far behind...GSU is no longer a commuter school with the construction of housing for 6,000 students on campus and several other smaller residential buildings. As a graduate of GSU and a long time resident of Atlanta, I'm pretty sure I'm well-informed on this subject. You, on the other hand, are not.
There is an abundance of campus life in Atlanta...don't try to say there isn't please.
GSU is a commuter school, building up on-campus housing does not make a school a true university. University of Houston is doing the same thing and that school is a commuter school. I doubt GSU is as live as UT at night.

You contradict yourself a lot. Your usually always the one to throw out metro area, not your using city population??? Atlanta's metro area dwarfs Austin's metro area. Like I stated before, adding more housing dosen't mean a school isn't a commuter school. Also you bring up HBCU's, what's your point????
nope, not that I know of. Everyone goes to Austin from Baylor.
