Looking For A Place Called Home: No crime/pollution/racism with good schools and 4 seasons
My family is looking to move; however, we do not know where. We have lived in Wisconsin our whole lives, and would like change. We are looking for a place that we can still enjoy the outdoors (hunting and fishing). We want to live somewhere that is a little warmer then Wisconsin, but we would still want some snow to go sleeding every once in a while and totally need the leaf change thing.
Idealy, we would like to live in a community that is safe (from crime, nuclear, water and air pollutants), has a good school system (because we have children), is affordable, and is free from racism.
We are a biracial couple (hmong and white). I am a gov't employee who is in the criminal justice field, so I truly don't want to live with the people I work with (criminals). We hate snakes and bugs...so the whole TX thing is out.
Our dream location would be somewhere were we could have a home with 3-4 bedrooms on 5 acres of wooded land for $250,000.00. We are sick of the midwest and would like to see another area of America!! IS THERE ANY SUCH THING??? Please help if you can!

I have suggested this to many people with simaler refrences. Syracuse and metro sounds perfect for what your looking for, though i think it gets cold if not colder than WI. and it gets A LOT of snow.
So if you want warmer, i would say Shelton, CT and anything east or north of new haven. It's not warm in the winter, but not unbearable i would say. CT has a beautiful landscape, it's very expensive once you go west of New Haven as you get closer to NYC.

You will never find the "perfect" place; if you did everyone would move there, and it would no longer be perfect. There are trade-offs to every location, you just need to do your research and determine what is most important for you and what you can make do with that isn't ideal.

I know I won't find the "perfect" spot; however, since there are so many people that come on here...I thought they can give me tips...and I would go from there. I am thankful for all the help I got so far!

Hmmmm... no crime, no racism, no pollutants in the water or air, and no bugs OR snakes.
I believe you just described two places - one would be " Xanadu", and the other would be " Heaven". One is fictional, and the other (if you're religious in beliefs) can only be reached once you die.
Not making light of your question, but I mean, really.
If you loosen that criteria just a bit and give maybe some more realistic details such as if you prefer a complete rural area or small Mayberry type town, or, if you want a homogeneous type of neighborhood or one that is more mixed with a variety of people, folks might be able to give you more ideas.
Just keep in mind that as long as there are PEOPLE there - there WILL be some crime, pollution, racism, and bugs. Only if you live among the wolves or something will you completely escape those things.

I was so set up until the sick of the Mid West thing came along. Maybe Denver, Cheyenne, WY or Billings Montana.

Sorry, but I don't think that place exists. Any place warmer than Wisconsin, will probably have snakes and bugs. And unless you live in the middle of nowhere "no crime" is probably also impossible.
We all want to find Utopia, but you have to give somewhere.
