How about we just put an end to these asinine "_____ v. _____" threads altogether?

Oops, I better not call them asinine. I might get an infraction.

I think this forum would be boring if we just answered questions, we need other stuff to rant and brag about.

This is why I stopped posting on the Pittsburgh forum. If you even try to speak about a certain project and what it might mean to the community, or how to limit sprawl, etc you will be cut down. I try mention my opinion that the Westinghouse Headquarters (being built 35 miles north of Pittsburgh) is a urban sprawl waste and irresponsibly done as they should have built on a brownfield close to the city, but my opinions are shot down, and I am even a designer on the project.

Nope, instead we will have city vs city discussions, and ignorantly bash everybody's city. I will have to read 500 more post from extremely intelligent and educated people from the suburbs on how Pittsburgh is boring, we should blast away our historic neighborhoods for freeways (no joke, this was mentioned on the Pbugh subforum), and its always cloudy not like the south where everything is peaches and cream.

When I joined, General U.S. was mostly people asking relocation questions and intelligent urban planning discussions. Then last summer it started disintegrating into the city vs. city stuff with all these totally subjective best and worst threads. Unfortunately.

I agree.... I don't think it should be specified as CITY v. CITY, but just ___v.____ so there's no, "well it's state v. state so I didn't want to put it in the city v. city thread!" type stupidity/ confusion (you choose).

Here's a thought: Why don't you create a sub-forum for the people obsessed with North vs. South? That would free up a whole lotta space here.

It would be interesting. I personally enjoy how out of control it gets sometimes. Let's go for it!
