Maybe, but they have changed the rules for the General U.S. forum so that those types of posts are no longer allowed there, and those types of threads are pretty popular.
Hmm... I don't know. I would maybe add a Cities/Urban Issues or Planning Forum and those kinds of posts could be in there, or in a sub-forum there. I think it's evident from looking at General U.S. that a forum dealing with cities in general is needed here, even though there are others "down the web hall," as atlantagreg30127 said. Basically it would look like the General U.S. forum looks now but with a different title.
Seems every thread like that just turns into a bitchfest between cities and no real information or useful comments are made after the first couple of posts. A lot of chest thumping and childish name calling is what I have seen on most city-vs-city threads.

I'm wondering why the city vs. city threads are even allowed for this reason right here. I think unless someone has a genuine question like "I got job offers in these three cities", they should not be allowed, but it's probably more complicated than that. However, I would support an urban planning forum.
People just want to get their opinions out on cities. I don't see anything wrong with that. You can hate a city and express your opinion but it doesn't mean others have to hate the city. Same thing goes for liking a city.
Oh, I think it would quickly descend to the ridiculous, with Scranton vs Las Vegas polls galore, and people continuously trying to compare apples to oranges. Then the flame wars would erupt with people shouting, "No way! Kalamazoo has pretty darned good public transportation. The city's minivan runs twice a day around the business district!"
In other words, a disaster in the making.
