There are literally a ton in Boston and I'm sure someone will post some of them, but my favorite, unique place to grab a drink or a bite to eat in Boston is in the South End at a Bar/ Restaurant called "BanQ."

and it's in THIS renovated building (a banK... get it?):

If you are in the Boston area don't forget 'The Publick House'....which is perhaps the countries best beer-pub.

And also 'Alibi' which is the bar for the Liberty Hotel which was a 19th century prison before being converted...

I went to "Clink" the other night... the Liberty hotel is simply stunning. So was the restaurant (didn't grab a drink at Alibi though). Unfortunately, the food could be better.

Speaking of Boston, there is a place I go to when ever I'm there. I think it has two locations. The one I go to is in Allston. Sunset Grill I think? Has an amazing selection of beer.
And Ckthankgod, you guys have the brewfest this weekend, right?

Founder's Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It's a microbrewery, rated very highly by reviewers. Founder's "Kentucky Breakfast Stout" was named the 6th Best Beer on Planet Earth by beeradvocate.com.

They also have a lot of unique music acts on the weekends.
