To sum it up quickly, I'm going to college soon and I plan on moving out of this general area (arkansas) and I was wondering where I might find a lot of young educated black people. I know that their are bad areas in every city, so i'm fairly lenient on that, but I was born in DC and I just don't want to have to deal with 'that' type of violence all the time >.>
There are threads that talk about this on this board. Try cities like Columbus, Ohio, Denver, Seattle, Charlotte, Houston, Dallas, the Hartford area(particularly Windsor and Bloomfield), some communities around NYC like Lakeview, Wheatley Heights and Baldwin, among others on Long Island and parts of New Rochelle, Tuckahoe and parts of Mount Vernon in Westchester County, parts of DC like Northern VA, Montgomery County and outer Prince George's County in MD., Nashville and a few others.
Well Houston,Tx comes to mind... don't be scared because its in Texas. Its nice has educated individuals, a good economy, and its cheap. Charlotte, NC & Atlanta of course

lol, that was partially sarcasm. But, I've noticed that there are a lot more middle class black suburban neighborhoods around Memphis. Just look at parts of Bartlett, Cordova, Southwind. They tend to get labled as "ghetto" though. Raliegh & Hickory Hill have a bad repuation, but whenever I go through those areas, I see a mostly black, middle class area.
Id Say Atlanta alot of wealthy black people in Atlanta not to mention all the educated blacks there that come from the HBCU clark morehouse and spelman
