Alright so I have been thinking about moving to the US. So I need some help.

How many % of those who sign up for the greencard lottery actually wins it?

basicly I'm just looking for tips on how to move to the USA.

Well it says here: U.S. Green Card Lottery / Diversity Visa Lottery for 2010 - that 55,000 visas are given away each year in the Green Card Lottery. I don't think there is anyway to know how many people apply each year unless US Immigration releases that info but I don't think they do.

If you have something to offer the US you have a better chance of getting in. At professor of mine is from Japan but since she is a teacher she got to move here. If you have family already here it helps too.

Hey, I have participated too this year, I did not while Bush was president
I don't think chances are big, but then again, somebody has to win those 55k cards, why not us?
By the way, if you have not entered this time you will have to wait almost a year for the next lottery, because usually the deadline is in December.
Do it via the official government site, there is no point in spending money on those dubious green card services.
