Where should my family and I go? Family includes me, wife, and two daughters (7 and 5). Willing to go anywhere in contiguous u.s. willing to fly or drive. Suggestions are appreciated.

Where have you been? Is there anywhere you haven't been that you want to go to?

Go to a National Park, preferably a Western one. Staying in one of the lodges doubles the beauty of the experience, but make your reservations now, they get booked up way before summertime. To *triple* the beauty, make it Glacier NP and travel there by Amtrak! A fantastic vacation!

Southern CA. You can visit LA, San Diego, Orange County, Disneyland, SeaWorld, SD Zoo and Wild Animal Park, beaches, Hollywood, Santa Catalina Island, mountains nearby, etc... Lots to do for a family and the weather in SoCal is great during summer.

Check out the Bar Harbor area of Maine. There's Acadia National Park and plenty to do for the children. It's not TOO pricey either.

we had a wonderful trip 18 months ago to sedona. my kids (9 at the time) loved it and actually preferred it to disney! we hiked, toured the town, went to flagstaff (lowell observatory, took the lift to the top of the mtn at az snowbowl), took the grand canyon railway from williams up to the south rim, went to jerome (old mining town), montezuma, winslow (ok, this was for me), meteor crater. it really was a wonderful trip!

Thanks for all the responses. Some of the ideas are great but we have done them. I like the Glacier NP.
