Richmond has a Federal Reserve Bank, so it already has government ties. However, it would be quite odd to have the White House and the White House of the Confederacy both in the same city.
Atlanta also has a Federal Reserve Bank, and the number of Federal agencies located here is second only to the DC area.
Plus, we already have a White House.
A smart place to have a capital would be somewhere close to the center of the country, preferrably surrounded by mountains. And most of Colorado sounds like it could be able to provide that.
When I went to Montenegro, its old capital was Cetinje...way up high, surrounded by mountains. It was interesting to see that. But it makes the most sense from a security standpoint for a country's capital.
