This is a list of Catholic Parishes with large African American demographics. The info is coming straight from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. People seem to be sharing small Pentecostal denominations only so far. Many of these Catholic Parishes have local black customs and are part of the Catholic Charismatic movement in these cities. Beautiful and awesome!

Parishes with a Strong Black Catholic Presence
The Pentecostal denomination referenced most in this thread is the Church of God in Christ, which is somewhere around the fifth-largest religious body in the U.S. with an estimated 6 million members...definitely not small (unless the basis of comparison is the Roman Catholic Church, in which case almost everybody else is "small").

But good point about Black Catholics; they tend to be somewhat overlooked.

I believe the one in Iowa City is from the 1860s, I am pretty sure Muscatine,IA has several old AME churches because it used to have the largest African-American population in Iowa back in the late 1800s.

I also grew up in a Church of God In Christ church, which we have our share of too.
Church Of God In Christ is huge in NY especially Brooklyn. I grew up in that domination as well.
