Do you know of any small town Austin?

I'd say Madison, Wisconsin is a smaller version of Austin, without the year-round nice weather. But it's still a population of about 230,000, so smaller is relative.

And if you meant are there any small towns named Austin, then Austin, Minnesota fits the bill.

Fayetteville, Arkansas. Pop 60,000. The only genuinely hip, liberal area in the entire state of Arkansas.

Athens GA has a history of good local music (REM, B 52s, etc) and has a really nice downtown
