Thanks for the heads up about St. Louis, I'll make sure to never give my business/convention money to that city. This is 2009 people. How embarrassing!
You're just oh so enlightened. People have smoked for thousands of years, yet this is the first generation of people to have a lower life expectancy than their parents' generation. If you cared so much about your health you would not travel to places that serve processed food or had bad air quality. If you don't like smoking, that is a perfectly acceptable position, but it doesn't mean that you have to get angry at other people. From the bulk of your posts, I assume that you live or have spent significant time in Greenville. South Carolina is one of the fattest states in the Union. This isn't about your health concerns, or your ability to remind them what year it is as to remind them how backwards they are. You simply don't like the smell and feel obliged to take everyone to task for it. If it bothered you soooo much, you could have done the same 10 second Google search that I just did. It would have yielded the following two smoke-free hotels in Milw.
Smoke-Free Hotels in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Don't be so confrontational. Seriously, the five minutes spent checking in to the hotel is not going to give you lung cancer. The stress that you just caused for yourself by dwelling on the matter did alot more to shorten your life expectancy than the actual incident.

Im very glad that PA put a smoking ban in resturants and bars.

I think ciggarettes should just be illegal and then our problems will be solved. Ciggarettes are more deadly than crack and heroine...yet you can buy them at any gas station or grocery store..tell me thats not backwards. The effects of smoking and second hand smoke are so bad why would any city or state want to have people smoking in public places?

The dive bars in PA that dont have a certain amount of food sales i think its 25% still allow smoking, i stay out of them. I like the idea that one town in California had...banning smoking in any public building...even your own apartment. The U.S does not do enough about smoking. In Canada it cost 13 dollars for a pack of ciggarettes and on the front of the pack has a very large warning. In thailand there is a warning on the front of the pack that says smoking causes impotence....needless to say most men dont smoke there.

The effects of smoking are so bad, and second hand smoke is just as bad. If you want to kill yourself thats your business...but you shouldnt be able to kill everyone around you. Smoking not only causes lung cancer but also kidney, and pancriatic. Smoking ages you...causes wrinkles, stains your teeth, causes ED, plays a negitive role on your sex life, causes heart problems, strokes, and it stinks. To top it all it is an addictive drug. There is no good effects of smoking...none. Now they are saying that 3rd hand smoke could be harmful. People should not have to smell that while eating, or having a drink.

Well, I didn't send the email, but I can understand why someone would. You really do seem to be someone that a lot of people wouldn't like.

Sure lets make smoking illegal oh and why we're at it lets also make alcohol, unhealthy food, cars that run on gas and companies that put out any sort of pollution illegal as well. All of those things are bad for us and we can't control a couple of them so I guess it's time to scrap em. How dare Americans make their own decisions about their lives. Don't worry though pinko, Communism/Socialism is Americas next stop it would appear.
illegal too.

Why not make crack legal? Since any goverment involvement makes us "communist" why even bother having laws? Lets let everyone do what they want unrestricted with no order.....GREAT idea

Ciggarettes kill....period. You cant compare cars or food to smoking. 4000 toxic chemicals in a ciggarette. Ciggarettes kill more people than every illegal drug combined.

While we're at it, I think that we should get rid of football too. A lot of people get hurt playing that sport.

There are some rather expensive martini and cigar bars.

"Ciggarettes are more deadly than crack and heroine" Amazing news! You just read that in JAMA? Do tell.

Ciggarettes kill many more than all illegal drugs combined. Look at the stats. You are trying to defend a deadly drug right now...kind of hard to do, i would like to see any proof of your argument of why ciggarettes are good???

Football and smoking are a little bit different by the way..football keeps you in shape, gives you self confidence, gives you something to be proud of, doesent destroy your insides and lead to an early grave. There is so much proof of what smoking does to your body, and the number of people who die each year from smoking. I dont know what kind of argument you are trying to make but its going to be a hard one for you.

Cigarettes are more deadly than crack cocaine and heroin? That is the stupidest ******* statement that I have ever heard. Have you ever heard of somebody with a 60 year crack habit? You should understand what you are talking about before you go spewing unfounded opinions on forums.

How many people does crack kill a year? How many people die from smoking related causes each year? You tell me what numbers higher.

Its smokers like you who really make every smoker in the world look ignorant. You think that theres nothing wrong with ciggarettes and that everyone should let you smoke anywere. You think all the medical evidence is bs.

If you want to sit there and kill yourself thats your business...but dont go defending it, and making it sound like you do no wrong. I think all the nicotine and chemicals in them ciggarettes have effected your brain a little bit.
