It doesn't need local bans, smoking is banned everywhere in the state except casinos.

Its smokers like you who really make every smoker in the world look ignorant. You think that theres nothing wrong with ciggarettes and that everyone should let you smoke anywere. You think all the medical evidence is bs.

If you want to sit there and kill yourself thats your business...but dont go defending it, and making it sound like you do no wrong. I think all the nicotine and chemicals in them ciggarettes have effected your brain a little bit.
The number of people who smoke cigarettes is exponentially higher than the number of people who smoke crack. Cocaine (in any form) is used by 1.7% of the US population. 21% of the US population smokes. Smoking obviously kills more people because a person is ten times more likely to smoke. Smoking also kills more people than city buses, but stepping in front of said bus is statistically more lethal.
I think there is something wrong with cigarettes in excess. I smoke maybe a few a day. Smoking two packs a day is bad for your health, just like eating 8,000 calories a day gives you diabetes and watching 18 hours of television will make your muscles atrophy.
I also only smoke outside or in when alone in my home because I think smoking around other people in enclosed spaces makes me a douche bag. I also think that obsessively nagging people pisses them off and I have the respect to leave them to their own volition because its their right to be inconsiderate. People who cut me off in traffic are on the same level, and are statistically just as dangerous to my well-being. I don't get angry at people who cut me off because passive aggressively reacting to it creates unnecessary stress. I don't get angry at trivial ****. If you do, I would suggest that you take the few minutes of silent contemplation that a cigarette break would provide you.

Ciggarettes kill....period. You cant compare cars or food to smoking. 4000 toxic chemicals in a ciggarette. Ciggarettes kill more people than every illegal drug combined.
As the saying goes: Some people are good at spotting a leaf, but lose sight of the tree. And then, with enough time, they may see the tree, but lose sight of the forest. Doesn't this say a lot the anti-smoking crowd?

Reading the papers everyday, it seems like the medical researchers are forever finding new research to nullify the findings of some other medical researcher. Not too long ago, there was a reversal on vitamins, that most of them are not all that useful.

I'm BANKING on it, that my continuation of smoking IS going to shorten my lifespan, and if somewhere down the road, researchers find out otherwise, I'll be the first to sue!

I am a smoker and it really upsets me that I can no longer smoke in a bar that had few, if any non-smoking patrons before the ban. I try to be considerate of others, I do not smoke in my home, I do not litter the land with butts, and I don't go around telling people how to live their lives. Seriously, all those people breathing all the time and exhaling their poisonous CO2 all over the place! Not like I am trying to place a ban on breathing.
The cancer thing I believe is a crock. Asian society has embraced smoking and drinking for a very long time. It has only been recently that they have developed issues with cancer. Oddly enough, they have also recently adopted western diets that include tons of fat and not many fresh vegetables.

For sure. Food products in this country are the deadliest products sold on shelves. Even a fresh apple isn't as nutritious now as it used to be, we bred any goodness right out of them.
We also started to put crap in out cigarettes to make them more addicting. That is what gives people cancer, not the tobacco. It still isn't good, but smoking for a day isn't much worse than spending a day in Los Angeles or Houston. Roll your own or buy additive-free packs.

How many people smoke crack a year habitually like they do cigarettes? of course the amount of people who smoke cigarettes and die from them as opposed to, for instance, crack, is higher because there's a higher percentage of these people. Basically what you're stating is that more people die from cigarettes than crack so cigarettes are more deadly. Let's put a cigarette smoker and a meth smoker in an experiment where they smoke their choice drug at the same rate. Let's see who lasts longer. I'm not defending cigarettes, they are deadly and bad for your health, but I can stand it when people try to make misguided arguments. Cigarettes are "more deadly" for the fact that more people die from cigarettes as opposed to illegal drugs, but that doesn't mean they will kill you more readily.

You nailed it on the LA thing. Last time I was there, I couldnt bring myself to smoke a cigarette because my lungs hurt from the smog.
I hear tobacco grows well in Arizona, with the cost of smokes I am thinking that is the way to go, grow your own. Save a ton of money and smoke a pure tobacco instead of the chemically treated crap.
