If there is, that certain race should sue the federal government. Though not entirely the governments fault, they would be the main factor not doing anything about it.
I think Irvington, NJ is bad... BAADDD! I knew a white person who went to the city just for business (sales i think) and she was walking down a street and she felt so awkward because people starred at her or rubbed against her and men just said crude things to her.. she was scared out of her mind. She wasn't mugged or anything but she didn't neglect to see the signs saying "Stop Irvington shootings"
I also heard a place in PA recently that a group of white kids beat up a black just for taking a stroll in the "wrong" neighborhood.
it sucks that stuff like this has to go on.
And Theres a small town in Louisiana called Jena that is Horrendous towards both blacks and whites.. A lot of southern towns can be named.
That's a lie! The media made it seem so much worse than what it really was. I have lived in Jena all my life and yes there are racist people but I'm there are some in your town as well. There are more of us here who are NOT racist then there is of those who are. When people think of racism they think of the South. Why? Because of the slavery? That was everywhere. Slavery was a long time ago..I think that should be let go and forget that reputation.
My Dad worked with a guy whose son lived in an "Aryan" compound in Montana or Idaho. It sounded pretty freaky as they apparently had armed guards to make sure you were the "right" sort of person before entering.
I guess as I get older the bonds of family mean more to me, but I think I could still see thinking that if my son joined an "Aryan compound" than maybe he's no longer the kind of man I want to visit. Either way I think I'd probably wonder how I screwed up as a parent to end up with such a kid.
There are some places that are xenophobic to any outsiders. Going by what I've read or heard I think many of these black areas deemed "dangerous for whites" would likely be dangerous for Black British people or other kinds of blacks who are clearly "outsiders." Although maybe moreso for whites. Likewise I think the poorest "white" counties in Kentucky might be fairly suspicious of whites with Boston accents too. Although as with above maybe more suspicious of blacks.
The south gets an unfair bad rap in these race post. There are plenty of northern towns that are run or have been run by klan. The whole state of Indiana during the 20s was run by klan. There is a town here in michigan called Cohoctah that was the home of the Grand wizzard for decades. Everyone knew black people did not go near it. Huge cross burnings, rallies lots of attention. The whole county of Livingston in Michigan has the same reputation. I dont know if these things happen in the northeastern states but it is not uncommon in the midwest. The media depicts the south as the only region that has these issues and that is not fair. If anything I would say the midwest is MORE racist than the south. Indiana and Michigan are amoung the worst for race relations to this day.

funny you mention this, I overheard a black lady the other day who said she had been here since the 50's and she said she remembers restaurants she couldnt get into because she was black. I have heard silimar things about smaller towns in NM back in the day.
My dad said he wasnt allowed to speak Spanish in school,if he or his siblings did, then they were punished, he was one of only 2 families that were Spanish in his small home town.
my mom grew up in SW Colorado and they had a black or Hispanic family that moved into town(dont remember which), and the town gave them enough crap that they finally decided to leave. They ran em out of town. Her cousin was also known to interact with some type of aryan group in Idaho, anyways he turned out to be a wanted fugitive who was featured on Americas Most Wanted and every news channel for killing a cop and trying to rob a casino.
Racism is and was everywhere, the South is just more known for it so it gets the worst part of it.
In 2002 the "Aryan Nations World Congress" took place in tiny Ulysses, Pennsylvania. (Tiny as in it's no bigger than the town I live in)
The "White Aryan Resistance" is reportedly based in Warsaw, Indiana. Rhodes, Michigan apparently has a Christian Identity, a white supremacist form of Christianity, minister. Oddly (well maybe oddly) St. Louis, Missouri seems to be the base for a few White Power groups. Idaho for a time had some white supremacist groups, but I heard their significance in Idaho may have been exaggerated.
California had one of the strangest Neo-Nazi groups in the National Socialist League. In was reportedly a group specifically for gay Nazis. Although there had been homosexuals in the SA the Party had turned strongly against homosexuals by the mid-1930s (as in killing them) so this is pretty weird. It seems to have been real though. (Although for all I know it was just guys with a fetish for Nazi uniforms)
